Patriotic Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients
- 2 to 3 Tablespoons non-dairy/vegan butter. I use IMPERIAL or this vegan brand.
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows - usually 1 whole bag.
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 6 tablespoons red and blue sprinkles
Instructions
- Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal or spray with cooking spray.
- Over medium heat, add butter to a large saucepan until melted. Do not let the butter get brown.
- Add in marshmallows, stirring frequently, until marshmallows are fully melted.
- Remove the saucepan from the stovetop.
- Add in the Rice Krispies cereal one cup at a time, until the cereal is fully coated.
- Add 4 tablespoons of sprinkles, one tablespoon at a time, until the sprinkles are fully incorporated.
- Press the mixture into the dish. I find this easiest if I spray my hand with nonstick spray and press it in or you can take a piece of parchment paper and lay it on top and then press and smooth them out.
- Sprinkle with remaining 2 Tablespoons of sprinkles over the top of the Rice Krispies.
- Press the sprinkles into the Rice Krispies treats.
- Allow the Rice Krispies Treats to set for 10-15 minutes.
- Cut into 24 squares and enjoy!
